Hi there I'm Chris!!
I am a professional photographer living in Newquay, Cornwall. The two types of photography I shoot couldn't be more further removed from each other but then that's where I think the fun lies. I have always had a camera to hand and I truly believe that making memories is what counts. On the one side I shoot weddings and then on the other side I shoot fine art oceanscapes, it may sound weird but I think each one compliments the other to a certain extent.
I grew up in Norwich, which as far as cities go was really cool. You would have thought the ocean would be but a distant dream but the reality is it is only twenty minutes away from the city and from an early age I bodyboarded the often mediocre, sometimes epic beach breaks around the North Norfolk coast. In my early twenties I relocated to Cornwall and have never looked back. Three years ago, I decided to go back to college and I have just completed a Ba (hon) degree in Applied Media which I am super proud of as I was the least academic person ever growing up.
I think the passion for what I do is drawn from a lifetime of surfing and travel and, as I mentioned, I've always had a keen interest in photography and I guess it was only a matter of time before the two merged. There are plenty of "surf" photographers out there but I have decided to steer well clear of that, instead focusing on the light, the ocean and the elements surrounding me. The dramatic weather we often get down here in the South West usually means constantly changing conditions which as a photographer I love, you never know what to expect.
The same goes for wedding photography, the day is completely dynamic and to me, that's where I think the beauty in photographing your special day lies. I love to capture the little moments, the moments you least expect me to. As with being in the ocean, I am always looking for anything out of the ordinary and adapting where necessary.
